Masonic Care WA Board
Over the 28th to the 30th of July a group of Masonic Care WA Board members and our CEO attended the Better Boards Conference 2017 held at the Brisbane Convention Centre. The event takes place each year and is designed to further develop leadership and governance in addition to a encouraging collaboration amongst boards.
“The Better Boards Conference focuses on contemporary governance and leadership issues. It is a worthwhile exercise for directors, board and committee members, chairpersons, chief executive officers, treasurers, presidents, vice-presidents, senior managers and executives of not-for-profit or for-purpose organisations. Academics and research students in the field of governance may also benefit.
Reasons to Attend:
• Enhance governance & leadership knowledge
• Share ideas & gather information
• Professional development
• Networking, connections and peer support
• Meet other board members, chief executive officers and senior managers
• Escape the daily grind and find space to focus on your governance
The conference theme in 2017: Adaptive Directorship: Governing for the unpredictable, aims to highlight the mindset and strategies leaders will need to ensure the successful governance and leadership of their not-for-profit organisation in unpredictable times.
Presentations and discussions at the Better Boards Conference 2017 will highlight the attitudes, behaviours and work practices that support successful outcomes in adaptive directorship.” – Excerpt from the Better Boards website http://conference.betterboards.net/discover-what-its-like-to-attend-the-conference/
The Masonic Care WA Board believes that quality leadership and governance is vital to steering our organisation and ensuring that we maintain our values in all that we do. Equally collaboration with other Not-For-Profits, boards and management encourages continual development of best practice which is a key focus for all MCWA activity.
