Donald John Blair OAM, RFD ED

CHAIRMAN

Don has been married to his wife Jennifer for 54 years and has two children and four grand children. He has been a Freemason for 53 years and an active member of the Lodge of Faith Hope and Charity 195 WAC.

Don served Grand Lodge as a member on the Board of General Purposes 1998/99, (Grand Masters nomination), on the Benevolence Committee 1996-2002 and as the inaugural Convenor of the Northern Districts Widows Association 1996-2002.

He was the First Grand Principal of the Supreme Grand Royal Chapter of Western Australia from 2007 -2010 and appreciates the importance and advantages of endeavoring to maintain a close relationship with all members of Freemasonry.

Don is also a dedicated Life member of the State Branch of RSL where he is the Chairman of the State Trustees and as the Trustee attends the monthly meetings of the Board of Directors

From 2003 to 2010 Don served as Chairman of Trustees on the Board of the RSL Retirement and Aged Care Association (RACA) and from 2010 to 2014 severed as the RSL State Representative as the Director on the Board of RSL Care. He was also a member of the RSL State Finance Committee.

As a Company Director and a State Trustee of the RSL, Don is well aware of his legal responsibilities and duties as a Company Director. He is an Honorary Member of the North Perth Rotary Club and the holder of the Paul Harris medal.

Don has been in the Retail Industry for 44 years and with his wife Jennifer has established eleven successful retail stores across Australia, employing over 60 staff.

Don believes that his business experience combined with past involvement in the State RSL Retirement and Aged Care Association can contribute greatly to the betterment of Masonic Care WA.

Barrie-Nugent

Barrie A Nugent Dip AAII, AINDT. Cert NATA

Barrie is a recent retiree after years in the Retirement Village industry and after a career in engineering and marketing. He is a past member of various Boards and Planning Committees, at a state and national level, in business and sport management.

Barrie is experienced in project and services management within Oceania regions, and Australian product import, marketing and distribution. He replaced Cess Phips as an elected member to the Board of Management in 2014.

Dr-Babe

Dr William (Bill) Babe; MB ChB(NZ), Dip Obst(NZ)

Dr Bill Babe is a registered Medical Practitioner, who is currently a full Associate Member and finance director of the Mead Group Medical Practice since 1985. He has over 30 years experience in staff management in his own practice and through the various administrative posts he has held in the Health Services. He was a member of a Hospital Board from 1978 to 2006 and from 2011 to 2015 he sat on Masonic Care’s Board of Management as the Medical Appointment. He is currently the Grand Master of Freemasonry in Western Australia.

Ernest Law;

Ernest retired recently after 45 years experience in the power supply industry specialising in steam and gas turbines. Since 2000 he held Engineering and Operations Manager positions with both Wesfarmers – Kleenheat Gas and Alinta Energy for local and remote power stations in Western Australia and South Australia. Formerly a recreational runner having completed 25 City to Surf runs. Now taking up golf, walking and enjoying time with his granddaughter. He is currently a member of the Fremantle Dockers and former member of the Western Force. Ernest has been a member of Masonry in WA for 40 years and was Junior Grand Warden in 2000 and Senior Grand Warden in 2007. Recently in late 2016 Ernest was appointed Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Western Australia.

Professor Anthony (Tony) House; AM M.S., F.R.C.S.Ed, F.R.A.C.S

Professor Tony House is a specialist surgeon and has served as Chairman and Committee member for the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, the Faculty of Medicine, the Australian Medical Association and metropolitan teaching hospitals. He is Chairman and Board Member of four Not-For-Profit Medical Foundations. He was awarded the AM for services to medicine in liver and kidney transplantation, rural and remote health and education. Tony has been on the Board of Management since 2011.

Michael-Beaver

Michael Beaver; FCA, BBus, Grad Dip Acc

Michael is currently a Managing Partner in Hamilton’s Accountants Pty Ltd. He has held Partnership roles in Chartered Accounting firms for over 30 years and is a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants. Currently Michael serves as a member of the Executive Committee for the Seniors Rugby Union Movement WA, on the membership committee for the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club and on various Rotary District Sub Committees. He is Chairman of Masonic Care’s Audit & Risk Committee and has been on the Board of Management since 2009. Michael previously sat on the Board of Management and the Board of Governors from 1996 to 2002 during his time as Grand Treasurer. He is also a member of the Fremantle Tripe Club.

Bob-Grimshaw

Robert (Bob) Grimshaw; Grad Dip Management, Cert App Sci

In addition to Bob’s academic qualifications he holds a Quarry Managers Certificate from the Victorian Department of Mines. His early career was spent with Boral in Melbourne, Bristile in Perth and Austral Brick in Sydney in senior Managerial roles; before retiring in 2009 the previous twenty years were spent in small business as proprietor and operator of a family News agency. Bob has been an elected member of Masonic Care’s Board of Management since 2010.
