MCWA’s Governance Framework clarify powers, responsibilities and authorities of the Board for the effective governance. They are members of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and attend regular education.
Donald John Blair OAM, RFD ED
Don has been a Freemason for 53 years and an active member of the Lodge of Faith Hope and Charity 195 WAC. Don served Grand Lodge as a member on the Board of General Purposes 1998/99, on the Benevolence Committee 1996-2002 and as the inaugural Convenor of the Northern Districts Widows Association 1996-2002.
He was the First Grand Principal of the Supreme Grand Royal Chapter of Western Australia from 2007 -2010 and appreciates the importance and advantages of endeavoring to maintain a close relationship with all members of Freemasonry. Don is also a dedicated Life member of the State Branch of RSL where he is the Chairman of the State Trustees.
Don has been in the Retail Industry for 44 years and with his wife Jennifer has established eleven successful retail stores across Australia, employing over 60 staff.

Peter comes from a strong family involvement in Freemasonry. He is the current serving Grand Master and holds a position as ex officio Director on the Board. He has extensive business experience ranging from finance through to running his own company. His time as a South Perth counsellor assists his keen understanding of Governance as the current Chairman of the Board of Grand Lodge.

Professor Anthony (Tony) House; AM M.S., F.R.C.S.Ed, F.R.A.C.S
Professor Tony House is a specialist surgeon and has served as Chairman and Committee member for the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, the Faculty of Medicine, the Australian Medical Association and metropolitan teaching hospitals. He is Chairman and Board Member of four Not-For-Profit Medical Foundations. He was awarded the AM for services to medicine in liver and kidney transplantation, rural and remote health and education. Tony has been on the Board of Management since 2011.

John is the newest member of the Board commencing at the end of 2019. He retired in 2017 as Compliance Manager – South Metropolitan for Department of Fisheries (now DPIRD) where he worked for over 44 years, commencing as a Fisheries Inspector in 1973 as an intended two-year break from university. He also holds a Diploma of Seafood Industries (Fisheries Compliance).
Other significant roles include being an Honorary Life Member of the Jaycees Community Foundation Inc. where he was appointed to this Board in 1983. John is a forty-year member of Freemasonry, joining at the age of 26 and he obtained his first Grand Rank from M.W. Bro Peter Stokes in 2000 followed by appointments from each of the successive four Grand Masters and is currently the elected Treasure of Lodge of Unity.

Ken has nearly forty years’ service as a Freemason including 17 years as Secretary. He is a current and active member of four Other Masonic Orders where he has held senior ceremonial positions and well as many years as a member of the Executive Committee.
Ken has been employed for over thirty years as a Sales and Marketing executive supplying process reagents to the mining industry. Ken’s ability to negotiate supply contracts at a high level ensures product is supplied to meet the requirements of today’s major mining companies.

An information technology and operation research graduate who has spent over 31 year in the IT Industry across the globe. Andy has a long history in senior positions within local, regional and global organisations including as a Consulting Director for Asia for a major software product vendor. He has regular been a part of Senior Management Boards in Asia for Multinational Companies, IT Strategy Boards and Program Delivery Boards for IT Transformation Projects. For the last six years he has been running his own consulting business and most recently re-entered the workforce with a major ANZ IT Business Consulting Group.

Marie-Louise MacDonald (Registered Nurse; Dip Project Management; BA APP Science; Grad Dip Public Policy Analysis; Grad Dip Research; MBA; Masters Business Law; GIA Cert and MAID) commenced as CEO in 2012, she is a professional with over 35 years’ experience as a senior executive in Australia and overseas. She has received industry recognition and features in WA Who’s Who. Marie-Louise is currently President of the Retirement Living Council and Director of the Property Council of Australia.
CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER
Parbat Gorasia (FCCA, CA, MIPA) is a qualified Accountant with over 30 years of experience including Audit, Accounting & Banking. Parbat is a Fellow of the Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA United Kingdom) and he is also a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). Parbat joined MCWA in 2008 as the Financial Accountant. He now works with the Executive to drive positive organisational change, help create and execute strategic plan and devote time to operations and large scale development projects.
Kim Oates is a qualified Registered Nurse for over 35 years, and has worked for MCWA since 2004. Kim has extensive managerial and care experience, and holds a Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training. Since 2004, she is responsible for the overall management of the Howard Solomon residential care facility and is intimately involved in the development of the new campus in Middle Swan.
EXECUTIVE MANAGER ACCOMMODATION SERVICES
Diana Smith (FAIM) holds a Bachelor of Business Management degree, an MBA and a Juris Doctor of Law. As an experienced Executive Manager she joined the organisation over five years ago following roles in the areas of communications, property services and the retirement industry within Western Australia. Her current responsibilities include the operations of all Retirement and Rental Villages across the state, owned and operated by MCWA.
Mark Jones is a Licensed Real Estate Agent, Certified Property Manager (Property Council of Australia) and holds a Diploma in Real Estate Management. Mark has over 30 years of experience in buying, selling, leasing and managing a diverse range of property types and has worked for a Federal Statutory Authority, Real Estate Agents and specialist Science Park Managers. Mark joined MCWA over 7 years ago and is engaged in managing the State Property Portfolio which includes facilitating the sale of Lease for Life transactions in our Retirement Villages, the disposal of redundant properties and the acquisition of new property assets. Mark is also the Licensee of Deximal Property Services.
