About Masonic Care WA

Masonic Care WA (MCWA) is a not-for-profit, charitable organisation that has been serving the community for over five decades. The organisation grew out of Freemasons supporting widows and orphans in 1907. In 1963 the establishment of Cottage Homesfor the Aged in Mount Lawley was the start of providing residential services to older people.MCWA currently operates rental, retirementand residential aged care facilities throughout Western Australia. From a single parcel of land in 1963 the organisation has grown to include 660 retirement living units, apartments and villas, 295 rental units and 126 residential aged care places. With over 300 staff, MCWA operate under a philosophy of care and service based on the principles of respect, integrity and care.


MCWA currently operate twelve retirement villages located throughout the Perth metropolitan area and regional Western Australia. The villages offer an excellent range of recreational and leisure facilities as well as opportunities to participate in social activities in a relaxed and peaceful environment. For an added sense of security, monitored care alarms are available to village resident’s and staff are onsite during business hours to assist with any other needs that may arise.


Ten rental villages are located in metropolitan and rural areas. These villages offer low cost rental for people who are over 55 with limited financial resources. Masonic Care WA works with the Department of Housing and support agencies to provide affordable accommodation.


Howard Solomon is fully accredited with 126 beds. Its specialist facilities include programs for people living with dementia. Howard Solomon offers excellent accommodation and care, with professional staff available 24 hours a day. Each room features a large private ensuite and has access to lounge areas, entertainment facilities, dining rooms, an exquisite chapel, beautifully landscaped gardens and outdoor areas. Residents experience a range of social activities,  an onsite General Practitioner Clinic as well as therapy rooms offering physiotherapy and
occupational therapy.
